I have read some request for study on the damage done by spells, as a result of the changes announced by OSI/EA.
Thanks to Ravynmagi who has kindly provided me with these results previously conducted on Test Centre 6.
Below are the results of an evening of testing the magery spell damage changes originally posted on Test Center 6.

What I did was cast each spell 20 times. Also to clarify the tile distance for harm. 3 tiles means I was in the 3rd tile from the target, ie. 2 tiles between us. 1 tile mean I was directly next to the target, and 0 tiles was me standing ontop of the target.
Because how the law of averages works and that I only cast the spell 20 times each, I think some of the figures are a not perfect. For example with GM resist the victim took less damage 0 tiles away than 1 tile away. But I have the figures saved in an Excel worksheet and will continue adding to the test to eventually get 100 spells for each and see how the figures work then.
Summary, the harm spell is WORTHLESS if you are more than 1 tile away from the target. I tested 2 tiles from the target briefly and found it was ALMOST as bad as being 3 tiles away (rought avg 4 or 5 damage). Having GM magery and GM resisted helped a bit more than just having GM resist. And there was definate improvements in the fireball and lightning bolt spells.
I apologise if the format is a bit skewed (my fault, but I'm not an expert on such things). Perhaps the Moderators can consider making Ravynmagi's results sticky for the time being ?
